The was pandemonium in the Igando area of Lagos State on Sunday as a policewoman was alleged to have killed a bus driver, Muyiwa Ijaduola.
The identity of the policewoman could however not be established as at press time.
But she is said to be attached to Igando Police Division.
She was alleged to have attempted to compel the bus driver to drop the usual money for the police, but Ijaduola refused.
Allegedly taking the laws into her hands, she dragged him down from the bus and used her baton to beat him to a pulp, in the full glare of her colleagues.
While she was beating him, the driver, who tried to protect his head with his hands, slipped and fell, hitting same head on the ground.
The incident, sources said, occurred in front of the NNPC Bus Stop in the area.
Drivers, according to informed sources, usually part with N500 as settlement.
However, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, dismissed the allegation that the policewoman killed the bus driver.
Owoseni said the driver was epileptic.
He said Ijaduola had epileptic attack and in the process of helping him, he fell into the gutter.
He said the policewoman could not have killed Ijaduola since she was not armed.
