Fuel Subsidy: Read What Jonathan Told Nigerians About Buhari and APC Before 2015 Election

The words of former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP seems to be making more sense to Nigerians after his exit following the removal of fuel subsidy that will see the pump price of petrol rise to N145 per litre.

Goodluck Jonathan in a public speech warned Nigerians about the authenticity of the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, All Progressives Congress which has led to massive regrets among Nigerians in just 11 months in power.

Read ex President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s acceptance speech at Eagle Square in Abuja December 2014 below:

“The choice before Nigerians in the coming election is simple. It is a choice between going forward and backward, between the new ways and old ways, between freedom and repression, between a record of visible achievements and beneficial reforms and desperate power seekers with empty promises. Our Political Opponents (Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress) shall assail us with the fury of their desperation to win power.

They will use every means, intimidation, false accusations, hostile media and more. Do not descend to their level. We must stay focused on the mission at hand to secure Nigeria’s future.”

  5. In view of the unprecedented wickedness through reckless stealing during the Jonathan administration, any shortcoming by a sincere but imperfect man of integrity like Buhari is 99% preferable to having a jonathan in power. Those who still sympathise with Jonathan had better be careful and perhaps keep such private, lest they provoke protests that may eventually lead to the prosecution of the nice, likeable, soft spoken, well- intentioned but
    incapable leader

  8. This piece is nothing, but polical statements. Jonathan n his cohot had nothing to offer nija. What we are going thru now is as a result of his empty leadership, misruling, financial mismanagement n selfish aggrandisement. I strongly imploy suffering nija to take heart, the journey to d promised land is very close to d finsh line.We have gone too far from where we started from. Lets endure a little more. Reformation is not always very easy. We must must pay a price for it.

  14. Nigerians are being deceived on the issue of fuel subsidy, The federal government takes out fuel for refining, only to come back and talk of removing the subsidy. That is nonsense and an attempt by a clique with the PDP led federal government to siphon the proceeds to be realized from the removal of oil subsidy”. - Buhari, 2011

i ask were is buhari getting the subsidy his is finally removed

  16. While all comments in this forum are laudable, such are better served free from ethnic, political and tribal sentiments. You cannot put new wine in old wine skin, the system that allows men of dumb intelligence and aspirants of empty promises ascend to the highest office in our mother land is questionable. An empty barrel makes the loudest notice! We are dancing to the rhythm of the drum.,The way forward? Well meaning groups and the masses must insist on the transparency of the political system where politicians have to be held accountable. Dare
Protest, we are the watch dogs of our future. You! Yes, me! What is the way forward.
